Founder's Vision
"I believe that talent exists in every corner of Ovim, but opportunity does not. The Dr. Uche Okereke Youth Educational Scholarship was created to bridge that gap โ giving promising students from disadvantaged backgrounds the support they need to succeed academically, personally, and professionally."
The goal is clear: to build a pipeline of future-ready, socially conscious leaders who will give back to the Ovim community โ creating a cycle of impact that extends far beyond the individual scholarship recipient.
This scholarship is Dr. Okereke's personal commitment to educational equality, and a tribute to every young person in Ovim who has the drive to succeed but lacks the financial means to do so.
More Than Financial Aid
This scholarship offers more than money. It is a comprehensive program designed to develop the whole person.
Up to โฆ250,000 per year for up to four years, covering tuition, compulsory school fees, and book support.
Periodic mentorship sessions that connect scholars with experienced professionals and community leaders.
Structured opportunities to build leadership skills that prepare scholars to be change makers in Ovim.
Scholars participate in community outreach in Ovim, giving back as part of their scholarship commitment.
Annual academic progress reviews ensure scholars stay on track and continue to meet program standards.
Scholars join a community of like-minded peers and mentors committed to the development of Ovim.
Sustainability
Currently funded by Dr. Uche Okereke, the scholarship is designed to grow sustainably over time through a diverse range of funding partners and supporters.
