What the Scholarship Covers

The Award Package

Each year, selected scholars receive up to โ‚ฆ250,000 to help with the following, for up to four years.

Funds are disbursed to cover tuition and compulsory fees first. Any remaining balance is paid directly to the scholar.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply

The scholarship is open to Ovim youth who meet all of the following criteria. If you're unsure, contact us before applying.

  • โœ“ Aged between 17 and 25 years at the time of application

๐Ÿซ Enrollment

  • โœ“ Have gained admission to, or are currently in your first year of study at a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution

๐Ÿ’ธ Financial Hardship

  • โœ“ Experiencing significant financial hardship or personal challenges โ€” for example: loss of a parent, displacement, family crisis, or similar circumstances

๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Community Commitment

  • โœ“ From Ovim and committed to volunteering and giving back to the Ovim community

๐Ÿ“„ Application Requirements

To complete your application, you must fill out the online form and provide the following documents:

โœ“ Personal Statement โ€” 1,000โ€“1,500 words (1โ€“2 pages)
โœ“ Admission letter or proof of first-year enrollment / academic result
โœ“ Available academic records โ€” WAEC results or equivalent
โœ“ Two reference contacts โ€” teachers, mentors, religious leaders, or community leaders
โœ“ Proof of hardship โ€” e.g. parent's death certificate, displacement record, or similar documentation

Scholarship Conditions

Expectations of Awardees

Recipients of the scholarship are expected to uphold the following responsibilities throughout the duration of the award. These conditions ensure that scholars remain focused, accountable, and committed to the values of the program.

Maintain Academic Excellence
Submit verifiable annual academic progress reports to the scholarship committee.

Complete Studies on Time
Complete your studies within the expected time frame for your programme.

Community Outreach
Participate in community outreach activities in Ovim as directed by the program.

Approved Groups Only
Not join or participate in any non-approved school groups or external functions during the scholarship period.

Authentic Documents Only
Not submit any falsified or fraudulent documents to influence selection or continued receipt of the award. Doing so will result in immediate disqualification.

The severity and impact of your financial circumstances on your ability to access education.

The strength and authenticity of your personal statement โ€” your journey, resilience, and character.

Your academic record and the motivation you demonstrate to succeed in your chosen field.

Willingness to Serve

Your commitment to give back to the Ovim community as part of the scholarship program.

Note: Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an in-person or virtual interview. Successful applicants will be notified by August 15, 2026.
